As expected, HFB strives to raise awareness, provide meaningful information and take appropriate action to help all communities on the ethos of ‘Vasudhaivaya Kutumbakam’, the understanding that the whole world is one family.
This disaster happened on 26 August 2026 in Nepal, north of India in the Himalayan range. During this period a huge number of Hindu pilgrims make their way to the Kailash and Manasarovar yatra, and a number of our members are currently making their way back. We are regretful to note that devotees from our member groups from Clousden and ISKCON temples are missing.
There is also good news to learn from Shree Mohanji of the Mohanji Foundation that all 300 members from his group are accounted for from this region.
The HFB with one of our founding member organisation Nepalese Hindu Forum UK , appeal to raise donations has arisen due to the overwhelming scale of the disaster affecting many of their family and friends in Nepal .
The recent floods have caused severe devastation. Entire villages have been submerged, homes have collapsed, roads and bridges have been washed away and rescue teams are airlifting people from rooftops.
Families are displaced, livelihoods are destroyed and communities are facing great hardship.
At such a time of suffering, our duty is to respond with compassion, unity and timely support. Waiting and watching is not a humane response when people are struggling for safety, shelter and basic necessities.
We understand that some individuals may have concerns about the handling of donations and the need for transparency. We wish to reassure everyone that HFB follows a fully verified and accountable process for all charitable appeals. Every donation is managed with complete clarity, proper documentation and secure fund transfer. We work only with trusted partners who provide full reporting, including usage details, receipts, photographs and an impact summary from the ground. Trust is built through verification, transparent reporting and responsible fund handling.
HFB donations are urgently sought at this moment. The need is immediate, and timely support will help provide food, shelter, medical assistance and rescue operations for families who are suffering today.
We encourage all community members, organisations and well‑wishers to support this appeal wholeheartedly. Compassion must guide our hearts, and transparency must guide our actions.
